50 Cent's Toy Soldier is Causing Trouble in CT

Dwayne “Hove” McKenzie, who works for 50 Cent and resides at his Farmington, Conn. mansion, was arrested on Sunday (October 14) on weapons and assault charges for allegedly pistol-whipping a club promoter. According to the Hartford Courant, McKenzie stands accused of assaulting promoter Howard Allison at around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday (October 10) after the man refused to announce an after-party at 50’s home during the reopening of local nightspot Club Life.

According to a police report, McKenzie pulled up to Allison in a 2007 Cadillac Escalade as the man was getting out of his car and questioned him about the snub. After a discussion, Allison started to walk away when McKenzie asked him, “Are We Good?” Allison reportedly replied, “Hell no, you don’t call someone up threatening to smack them because they don’t big you up in the club.” At that point, Allison claims, McKenzie put his arm around his shoulder and hit him in the chin and right eye with a pistol that then fell to the ground. McKenzie then told Allison to “call the cops” and got into his vehicle and left.

McKenzie made the news last August when he discharged a pistol outside of a Hartford nightclub after a man tried to rob him of a $100,000 chain. The state attorney’s office did not prosecute McKenzie in that case because he had a permit for the weapon at the time, although he has since lost his right to carry a weapon. Police picked McKenzie up at around 1:00 a.m. Sunday on a warrant and found that he had two weapons in his possession at the time. He was arraigned on Monday on two counts of carrying a pistol without a permit, two counts of second-degree assault and one count of weapons in a motor vehicle. McKenzie is being held on $750,000 bail, but is expected to be released today. He is due back in court on November 6.

Dwayne “Hove” McKenzie, the same employee/housemate of 50 Cent’s who made noise in August after firing his gun outside a Hartford, CT nightclub, is in trouble again.

Don't fuck wit Diddy

By LARRY CELONA
October 16, 2007 -- Hip-hopper Sean "Diddy" Combs will be charged with assault after allegedly delivering a bloody rapping to a SoHo clubgoer over the weekend, police sources said last night.

Cops were reinterviewing witnesses - and were possibly poised to slap a more serious gun rap against one of the star's bodyguards - after Combs roughed up love rival Steven Acevedo at the trendy joint Kiosk in SoHo in the wee hours Saturday, the sources said.

Combs, 37, and Acevedo, 31, who is in the clothing business in Manhattan, were fighting over one of the playboy rapper's new squeezes, a striking blonde who accompanied him to Cannes in France over the summer, sources said.

Acevedo has dated the woman, one source said.

In a statement, Combs's lawyer denied any wrongdoing by his client.

"We hope this matter will be resolved without the filing of any criminal charges as it was a disagreement among acquaintances, not a criminal assault," said the attorney, Benjamin Brafm

The woman was not at the club, and possibly not even in the country, when the fight broke out between her former and current boyfriends, the source said.

Acevedo told cops that the pair got into an argument at the club around 3:30 a.m. and then briefly separated before starting to fight again.

Combs then clocked him twice in the face, busting his lip and bloodying his nose, Acevedo claims.

At one point, Combs allegedly screamed at his foe, "I'll kill you, punk!"

Acevedo told police that one of Combs' goons lifted his shirt as if to signal that he had a gun.

The alleged victim said he left the club and then called the cops to report the incident from home about an hour later.

Investigators are now going back to witnesses to try to determine whether the bodyguard was armed. If so, they may charge him in the case, the sources said.

Combs will be charged with a misdemeanor - third-degree assault - and given a desk-appearance ticket for his role in the incident, the sources said. He will not face jail time, they said.

Acevedo refused to comment when reached at home last night.

Combs is a notorious bad boy when it comes to girlfriends.

His longtime lover, Kim Porter, who gave birth to twins by him earlier this year, dumped him after he reportedly got another woman pregnant at around the same time.

He also allegedly punched a man during a brawl over another woman at an Oscars party in Hollywood in February.

Combs' most infamous dust-up involved one of his favorite former gal pals, Jennifer Lopez.

The pair became embroiled in a shooting that injured three people at a Manhattan nightclub.

Combs' protégé Jamal "Shyne" Barrow landed a 10-year prison term for his role in the shooting.

Cass is on drugs

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Cassidy has a little advice for mogul Jay-Z. The Swizz Beatz protégé thinks the Def Jam prez should push his album back.

"I think right now, the way that I got the hood on smash and the way that my song is poppin' off, I don't think it would be a smart decision for Hov to drop on November 6," Cassidy told SOHH. [Watch Here]
Cass' new project, The Barry Adrien Reese Story (B.A.R.S.) is slated to hit shelves the same day as Hov's concept album American Gangster.
And though Jay's "unofficial soundtrack" to the flick of the same name has been getting good reviews, Cass said American Gangster is not as anticipated as any of Hov's classics.
"It ain't like when [The Blueprint] Vol. 1 or Vol. 2 was gonna drop, it's a lot different," Cassidy said.
Cassidy's third solo effort is the follow up to I'm a Hustla, in which he sampled Hov's voice on the title track.
Cassidy compared the projected sales stand-off to that of 50 Cent and Kanye West.
"The same way that Kanye and 50 both benefited from dropping on the same day, I think if I drop with somebody as legendary as Hov, I can't do nothing but benefit from that," Cass said. "I'm happy that Hov, a person that really takes lyricism seriously, is coming back out again."
Hov isn't the only one Cass says isn't fit to come against him. The rapper recently smashed rumors of a battle rap with Joe Budden, saying the only emcee fit to battle him was himself.

FIFTY CENT PUTS CT HOME ON MARKET

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The 52-room mansion that rapper 50 Cent has called home for more than three years, an estate once owned by boxer Mike Tyson, is up for sale, according to a Hartford real estate agent.

The rap artist, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, bought the 48,000-plus-square-foot house in September 2003 for $4.1 million.

Since buying the mansion, 50 Cent has spent up to $6 million renovating the house, including adding a helicopter pad, according to reports.

Curt Clemens, owner of Century 21 Clemens & Sons in Hartford, told the Hartford Courant Wednesday that he toured the house a few months ago after being contacted by representatives of the rapper who said he wanted to sell the property.

Clemens, who was the listing agent on the house when it was owned by Tyson, said that he was notified a few weeks ago that another real estate agent would be handling the sale.

"I was surprised it hadn't come on the market because we were expecting it," Clemens said. "He's put a lot into it, and it's all very tasteful, except the stripper poles."

Clemens said 50 Cent added an infinity pool and spa with a grotto, new decks, windows and roofing, an entirely new main kitchen, a movie theater, updated master bedroom, and all electrical systems

NAS & KELIS TREATED LIKE "TERRORISTS"

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Nas cancelled a recent "Hip-Hop Is Dead" tour date in San Diego, CA amidst claims that he and wife Kelis encountered "racist" club employees, who treated them like "terrorists."

San Diego's Z-90.3 night radio host Tre interviewed the Queens-bred rapper and Nas expressed his grievance with the House of Blues on Wednesday night (May 2), the evening the show was to occur.

"We came to the club, all excited. Couldn't wait to get here. [The tour venues] have been sold out every night. The energy from everybody has been crazy. Every time I come to San Diego, the energy's crazy. [We] go to the the venue and they ain't let me in. I was outside with my wife and they treated us like terrorists," Nas said. "It was a little racist and we just don't tolerate that. I just want everybody to know, don't tolerate any form of racism."

Nas explained that he and his entourage didn't respond in a way that could have permitted the situation to escalate into violence.

"We deal with racists in a way that they are supposed to get dealt with. We dealt with it in a manner of respect when they should have been disrespected. We just left it alone, you know?" Nas said. "It was just a real nasty, racist situation."

At press time, the San Diego House of Blues wasn't available for comment.

"There is no other side of the story. We were treated like terrorist. We had a whole bunch of security guys rush outside to me and my wife like we were terrorists. Its not like I came with 50 guys or nothing. It was just me, my wife, my DJ and my staff for the 'Hip-Hop Is Dead" tour and they came at us like we was Osama Bin Laden or somebody," Nas lamented on air.

Nas admitted that this instance with the House of Blues might have been an aberration from the norm, based on past experience.

"That's a good club. I've played that club twice. I love that club. It must be new management or something," he said. "I said, 'Do you treat Bon Jovi like this?' They said, 'No.'"

Morally, Nas said that he simply couldn't stay, even though the concert was sold out and fans were disappointed.

"Anybody that tolerates [racism] is a sucker in my book," Nas concluded. "All of that gotta stop."

Nas promised to return to San Diego, but at a different, larger venue.

San Diego was the last tour date listed on Nas' highly successful Hip-Hop Is Dead tour.

BUSTA ARRESTED

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Busta Rhymes' legal woes continue to mount as the Brooklyn bred rapper was arrested in New York on drunk driving charges early Thursday morning (May 3).

According to the Associated Press, Rhymes (born Trevor Smith) was stopped by officers at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Manhattan's West Side because the SUV he was driving had overly tinted windows. Authorities claim they smelled booze on the rapper's breath and he was then taken into custody on a charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Busta is expected to be arraigned later today. His lawyer, Scott Leemon, declined to comment and said he would address the charges in court.

Busta is also tentatively scheduled to go to trial on Tuesday (May 8). He is charged with assaulting his former driver, Eddie Hatchett, during a dispute over back pay. He is also charged for assaulting a fan who allegedly spit on his car in August.

In February, a Manhattan judge offered him a plea deal that would have kept him out of jail if he plead guilty to both assault charges. She would withdraw her offer three days later after Busta was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

UPDATE ON FIDDY

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Rapper and mogul 50 Cent is preparing for the June release of his new solo album, Curtis. The rapper recently shared what it was like working with Justin Timberlake on "Ayo Technology," a Timbaland-produced song which will be included on the Curtis album. The rapper told MTV.com, "I actually wrote a lot of the portions that other artists are working with me on, (but) in Justin's case, I flew to Florida. He was on tour with Timbaland. Timbaland produced the beat in a studio/trailer, on the tour bus. We got the music, the first time. I wrote a first verse; I didn't want to finish without the content and chorus. We got together the second time and finished the song in Houston."

50 Cent also explained that for this album he decided to expand his circle as opposed to just working with Eminem, Dr. Dre, and G-Unit producers. He said, "This time I worked with Akon, with Mary J., Robin Thicke, Will.I.Am, Pharrell, Swizz Beatz, Kanye West. Me and Young Buck featuring Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls. The album, for me, was finding a space where I am content and comfortable with my career, where I can go off and create with other artists and experiment a little bit."

In addition to the lead track, "Straight To The Bank," 50 Cent recently leaked a Havoc-produced track, "Fully Loaded Clip." In the song, 50 Cent raps, "While Jay and Beyonce was 'mmwa, mmwa'kissin'/ I was cookin'1,000 grams in my kitchen/ While Nas was telling Kelis, 'I love you, boo'/ I was shining my nine/ You know how I do/ ... While Trina was telling Weezy, 'I love you, boo'/ She was just running game/ She told Buck that too."

As far as dealing with the pressure leading up to the release of the new album, 50 Cent feels like the quality of the music will speak for itself. He said, "I think CD sales have been down because of a lack of quality (in the albums) that have been released. It wasn't (as) good as the standards that they hold at Shady/Aftermath. Dr. Dre, Eminem and myself -- (we collect material until we've got) what we feel is the best possible music by the time I come out. That's my formula to selling to the hip-hop community."

DEAD BODY FOUND IN HOME DURING A TOUR

JANESVILLE, Wis. - This real estate agent will likely do a house check before letting her prospective customers tour on their own from now on, after a couple happened upon a homeowner dead in bed.

Linda Chabucos-Galow, a real estate agent with Shorewest, stood in the dining room while Justin and Colleen McKeen walked through a house Monday night.

Before long, she heard Colleen scream as the couple stood at the doorway.

"I thought, 'What's wrong?' Maybe it was a dead mouse or something," Chabucos-Galow said.

But then she peered into the bedroom and saw the body of Linda L. O'Leary, 55, the owner of the home. She had been dead for about two weeks, officials say.

"It looked like a Halloween prop," Chabucos-Galow said.

The uncovered body was wearing dark shorts. Chabucos-Galow said her legs were wrapped in material that appeared similar to cheesecloth or support hose.

"If we spent five minutes in there, I'd be stretching it," Chabucos-Galow said.

She said she then told the couple: "'We need to leave. This is not right. We need to get out of here.'"

Gale Kent, the Coldwell Banker First United Realty agent who listed the house, said the property was for sale "for a while," but wouldn't say how many times it had been shown in recent weeks.

"I don't want to say anything because I haven't talked to the police yet," Kent said.

Rock County Coroner Jenifer Keach said she pronounced O'Leary dead at 11 p.m. Monday.

Police Capt. Dan Davis said an overnight log listed the incident as a sudden death, which indicates to him there was no foul play.

But he would not comment further on whether the death was suspicious. An autopsy had not been scheduled, he said.

Chabucos-Galow said she set up the showing without knowing the homeowner's identity.

After entering the home, she noticed a faint odor but thought it was from the mess in the house or the countertop full of dishes. She saw unopened mail.

"I've smelled death. I know what death smells like," she said. "I can't believe my sinuses were that bad."

BOBBY VALENTINO "ANONYMOUS"

RUMORS FROM ILLSEED (ALLHIPHOP.COM) CAM VS TRU

Tru Life admitted that he fought Cam'ron at club stereo - he. He said a lot of stuff, including that it was quite personal. He "socked him in the eye" he said. He also claimed that Jim Jones was punched in his face by a young kid in his LES 'hood and now he possesses a ring of Jim's that the kid stole. Man, I'm not making this stuff up...he said it right on Power 105 in New York to Ed Lover and Egypt. He chastised Cam and them for glorifying certain lifestyles. Man, this is just getting ugly. Anyway, Tru said he has two kids that he has to feed and that they were stopping him. Anyway...sheeeeeet....more on it...later. (FYI. Cam and the crew are seemingly mum, but say nothing happened.)

CAM'RON CLAIMS IT WAS A STUNT

As the story continues to develop, SOHH has learned that representatives from Cam'ron camp are denying allegations that he was punched by rival rapper Tru Life.

As previously reported by SOHH, Ed Lover announced this morning on his "Ed Lover Show with Egypt and Ashy" that the two rappers had been involved in a physical altercation outside of Club Stereo in NYC which resulted in Cam being punched by Tru Life.

Tru Life appeared on Power 105's morning show this morning, where he spoke candidly about how he was sick of Dipset promoting the Bloods and that he felt Dipset are bad for hip-hop.

Through a source close to the situation, SOHH has learned that Cam'ron and his camp are claiming that no physical altercation took place and that the situation is being blown out of proportion.

"From my understanding Cam'ron was outside of Club Stereo with his manager when Tru Life pulled up to the Club Stereo and made a big scene in the middle of the street with tons of police officers already outside the venue..." said a rep for Cam'ron. "So there was never a moment for Tru Life to actually get close to Cam'ron to hit him. Cam'ron never responded to Tru Life and just looked at him as the cops made Tru Life leave the area. Cam'ron viewed it as a publicity stunt considering the police were on-site and never responded to Tru Life's antics."

CAM'RON VS TRU LIFE

VS
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

A fist fight between Dipset rapper Cam'ron and Tru Life last night (April 30) has New York's Power 105 morning show host Ed Lover grappling to get the two sides to sit down and make peace.

This morning, Ed Lover reported the incident on his "Ed Lover Show with Egypt & Ashy." According to Lover, the two feuding MCs allowed their previously verbal beef to come to physical blows in front of a New York City club.

"What happened last night was Cam was standing in front of Club Stereo and Tru Life confronted him about what's been going on back and forth on the mixtapes and they got into a physical confrontation. Pretty much Tru Life hit Cam, cops broke it up and everyone dispersed," Ed Lover told SOHH exclusively.

No major injuries occurred and no one in either party has been arrested. Additionally, Ed Lover is currently doing his part to step in and prevent any further violence.

"As an OG in this business, I have a lot of love for both camps and I'm trying to mediate this because it's starting to get to a point where it's getting out of hand now. The worst thing we need is somebody really getting seriously injured. Having a little fight is one thing, but you know when it comes to that, the gunplay comes into it. We don't need that. Hip-Hop got enough problems right now, we don't need another black eye because of some dumb beef. It can be squashed," Ed Lover said.

Ed Lover says that since last night's altercation, he has spoken with both Dipset Capo Jim Jones as well as Tru Life and that he plans to continue to mediate the situation.

"It's just a matter of getting dudes off that 'f* the other dude' thing and coming to a table and sitting down. I think I'll be able to do that and with the help of some of the other OG's in the business we'll be able to do that," Ed Lover explained. "We're at a critical point with hip-hop right now. I feel like the future of hip-hop is riding on the moves that we make within the next couple of months, because Don Imus was slick enough to throw hip-hop in the pot. I know both of these camps and I'm trying to do as much as I can do to mediate and at least get some kind of dialogue."

Until now, the bad blood between Dipset and Tru Life has been confined primarily to mixtape talk and cover art, involving a lot of mocking on both sides. Tru Life appeared on Power 105's morning show this morning, where he spoke candidly about how he was sick of Dipset promoting the Bloods and that he felt Dipset are bad for hip-hop.

The attention-whore was probably calling the papparazi when he went out with Whitney last week. I guess he is trying everything he can to get past that damn "Brandy's brother label".

Kim Kardashian has settled with the porn company that distributed the tape for $5 million. Damn, she got $4 million more than Ray-J.

YOUNG BUCK DENIES INVOLVEMENT

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Contrary to previous reports, rapper Young Buck and his crew have denied being involved in a shooting that took place in the parking lot of the Hilton Garden Inn in Kennewick, Washington on Saturday (Apr. 28).

At least six shots were fired by two weapons during the shoot-out, which sent one man to the hospital with a single bullet wound to both legs and left patrons of the hotel terrified for their lives.

Police told Kennewick's Tri-City Herald that they were investigating reports that the shooting was a result of a fight that had broken out between Young Buck’s entourage and rival rappers, after Young Buck’s performance at Club Paradise.

Young Buck himself and a witness have come forth, proclaiming the rapper’s innocence in the situation.

“I had no involvement in that situation. None of my entourage was involved," Young Buck told AllHipHop.com. “We stayed at the hotel where the situation happened, I had no argument with nobody, I had none of my entourage involved in no fights. There were no robbers, or no shooting between us or no other rappers or none of that s**t.”

According to the witness who was at both the Young Buck show and the after party, the shooting stemmed from an earlier incident.

“This shoot out had to do with a fight that happened earlier between two people that knew each other from Seattle and then other people showing up to have his back," an eyewitness told AllHipHop.com. “It also had to do with a chain trying to be snatched, and people having that persons back.”

The incident and the reports have cast a negative light on Young Buck who is currently on parole.

“I ain’t have one bit of anything involved in this situation even nobody around me,” Young Buck told AllHipHop.com “I was there when the shots rang out and I got the f**k out of the hotel like 'oh s**t.' I come up out of the lobby and shit and I see the damn n***a laid up in the elevator and s**t. We got in our bus and left. It wasn’t a situation with anyone in my crew. That f***ed me all the way up. I’m on parole, my parole officer and lawyers [were] calling me."

Nine Seattle area men were arrested and detained, as they attempted to flee the scene of the shooting and dump their weapons in the process.

"HUSTLEMAN" MUST WEAR ALCOHOL BRACELET

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

First Alec Baldwin tries to leave NBC’s “30 Rock” in the wake of his infamous leaked voicemail message to his 11-year-old daughter. Now, co-star Tracy Morgan may have to film future episodes with a court-issued ankle bracelet that detects alcohol vapors in the skin.

A Los Angeles Superior County Court last weekend ordered the comedian to wear the high-tech gadget, called a SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitoring), to ensure that he stays away from consuming alcohol, reports TMZ.com. The device will monitor booze levels present in the skin every 30 minutes for 90 days.

If he tests positive for alcohol use he will have to start his 90 days over, and if he fails a second time he'll be forced to spend 30 days in a county jail. He must also complete five days of community service.

Oh Baby! Bulls Sweep the Heat
Bulls 92, Heat 79

By Amy Shipley

MIAMI, April 29 -- A year after winning the NBA championship, the Miami Heat couldn't get through the first round of the playoffs. Why, the Heat couldn't win a game. Miami's players didn't even bother running the court in the last minute of Sunday's 92-79 loss to the Chicago Bulls, seemingly overwhelmed by the frustration of their relentless opposition, and the season's hard reality.

A day after Heat Coach Pat Riley stepped to the middle of the locker room before practice and started shadow boxing, challenging his players to step up and fight with him, the Heat met that challenge.

Alonzo Mourning and the Heat officially and meekly gave up its title, becoming the first defending NBA champion to be swept in the opening round of the playoffs in 49 years."They are a great team," said Miami Head Coach Pat Riley. (J. Pat Carter - AP)

Shaquille O'Neal, Dwyane Wade and the rest of the Heat fought Sunday. They just weren't nearly good enough.

The Chicago Bulls officially shed their Baby Bulls moniker and made a powerful statement with a powerful series, sweeping the Heat in four games, three of which were not competitive in the waning minutes. Especially Sunday's. Despite the stakes and locale, it was the young Bulls, not the veteran Heat, who looked cooler and smarter as the clock wound down.

So while the Heat officially and meekly gave up its title, becoming the first defending NBA champion to be swept in the opening round of the playoffs in 50 years, the Bulls advanced to a second-round matchup with the Detroit Pistons.

"We ran into more than a formidable opponent," Riley said. "They are a great team."

When the clock ran out, Riley sought out third-year Bulls coach Scott Skiles in front of the scorer's table. "You," Riley barked into Skiles's ear, "can go a long way."

Far removed from the days when Michael Jordan led them deep in the postseason year after year, the Bulls had been ousted for two straight years in first round of the playoffs, last year by Miami and in 2005 by the Washington Wizards. But for the past eight days, Luol Deng, who scored 22 points and posted 12 rebounds Sunday, and Ben Gordon, who had 24 points, played the part of wily but spry veterans, outrunning and outgunning the Heat.

"We're in a place we have never been before," Deng said. "It was good for us to come out and show our maturity as a team."

Chicago seemed unshakable no matter what Miami threw at it. The Heat energized the home crowd early, jumping to an 8-0 lead that it did not relinquish for nearly three full quarters. But when Deng hit a 20-footer to put Chicago up by two with just under three minutes remaining in the third period, the Bulls never trailed again.

"They were the better team," Wade said.

The game's final minutes proved almost embarrassing for the Heat. It wasn't that Miami mounted a weak comeback. It mounted no comeback. Down by one with 5 minutes 27 seconds left, Miami committed five turnovers and missed 10 shots, eventually losing by 13 in a largely emptied and significantly quieted American Airlines Arena.

One person was injured and nine others arrested after gunfire erupted outside a Young Buck party at a Kennewick, Washington hotel on Saturday (April 28).

According to The Tri-City Herald, following a performance by Buck at the nearby Club Paradise, the aforementioned after party began at the Hilton Garden Inn and a fight broke out in the parking lot.

During the melee, authorities claim six shots were fired by at least two weapons, with one bullet passing through the leg of a Las Vegas man identified as Robert Osound.

Nine men were immediately taken into custody and were all charged with failure to report a violent crime, and are facing other charges to be filed against them. All the jailed men have claimed they were rappers in town to attend or perform at the Buck show.

Police are currently trying to determine who did the shooting in the hotel parking lot, and what led to it. One report under investigation was that a fight erupted between members of G-Unit and rival rappers.

Kennewick Sgt. Scott Child revealed that they are having a hard time investigating the incident because a number of those involved are unwilling to cooperate with detectives.

Representatives from Young Buck's camp have yet to issue a statement regarding the shooting, while the hotel's management declined to discuss the incident when reached.

SNOOP "DISAPPOINTED"

Snoop Dogg's attorney has expressed disappointment at a recent decision by the country's Immigration Minister to deny the rapper entry into Australia.

Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews said the rapper failed to meet Australia's character test, which takes previous criminal convictions into account.

Snoop Dogg, who was recently denied entry into the United Kingdom as part of a tour with Sean "Diddy" Combs, recently plead no contest to drug and weapons charges stemming from incidents at two separate airports in California in Sept. and Oct. of 2006.

Snoop was sentenced to five years probation and 800 hours of community service,

“We are very disappointed and hope that the minister will reconsider his decision," Snoop Dogg's attorney Donald Etra said in a statement released to AllHipHop.com today (Apr. 26). "Snoop just completed a very successful European tour where he was able to spread his message of peace to his fans and hopes to continue it around the world. Snoop has no gang ties and this is evident through his ongoing efforts to get kids off the streets and out of gangs via self funded programs such as his youth football league. Snoop loves Australia and Australia loves Snoop. He truly hopes to have the opportunity to perform for his fans.”

Snoop Dogg was scheduled to be co-host of the Australian MTV Music Awards on Sunday (Apr. 29).

Today, executives at MTV lent their support and intensified their efforts to overturn the country's ban on Snoop Dogg.

The network has six immigration specialists who are helping to prepare Snoop Dogg's case and remained hopeful that Snoop Dogg would appear at the awards ceremony on Apr. 29.

"We're putting a lot of energy in to making a case for how popular Snoop is and the fact he's been here before without incident...we’re hopeful that when people tune in to MTV at seven o’clock on Sunday, they’ll see Snoop Dogg on the red carpet." said MTV managing director Dave Sibly in a statement.

Snoop Dogg will not be replaced as host of the awards ceremony if his appeal is denied.

TALIB'S WOMAN "GETS OUT OF POCKET"

Rapper Talib Kweli finally addressed the rumor mill, during a recent appearance on "Miss Jones in the Morning" show on Hot 97.

Earlier this month, AllHipHop.com's rumor mill was in an uproar, stating that the rapper was embroiled in an argument at an event at 50 Cent's Connecticut mansion and his girlfriend slapped him, causing him to cry.

He denied the account.

"I was at 50's house and I got into an argument with my girl and it got physical. Wasn't nobody going into a room and crying. I'm a passionate dude and sometimes women get passionate," Kweli said on the radio. "She got out of pocket and she got checked. It was an ugly situation for both parties and it didn't make either one of us look good. I'm glad its over with."

The rapper admitted that the argument had started prior to arriving at the 50 Cent rapper's home, but boiled over after the couple began drinking.

"[Alcohol] had something to do with it," he admitted. I got passion in my life and sometimes, as a result it bubbles over. If you are in a relationship...yeah, she was out of pocket for that."

Nevertheless, the rapper emphasized that the relationship hadn't suffered to the point where he would split with his girl.

"That was something small compared to the relationship," Kweli said. "She wasn't trying to play me. She was upset and something I did so she was being disrespectful, because she was upset about something that had happened before."

He said days after the incident, he began getting pages from friends.

Talib Kweli's is set to release Ear Drum, his first solo album on Blacksmith Music.

The album is set to drop on June 19.

RZA HAS A POINT

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Wu-Tang's RZA, one of the group's key players, had a thing or two to say about where the sickly hip-hop lies his head at this moment in time. Via Thuglifearmy:

"Hip-hop is just unbalanced. Right now, rappers are glorifying their hell. How you gonna tell me it's cool to live in the ghetto? Who wants to live where you got rats, roaches, pissy elevators, shootings, killings, rapings, drug addicts, alcoholics, all in a four block radius?"

"Now, out of nine Wu-Tang members, seven are felons. We were the problem of our communities, but we never bragged about it. We kept moving on about life. But right now, these hip-hoppers are stuck on one thing. They stuck on sex and violence and drugs and partying. Life is way more than that. Especially the day after the party ends. When you get the fuck up the next day, what you gonna do?"

CAM'RON EXPLAINS HIS SIDE OF 60 MINUTES EPISODE

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Rapper Cam’ron has come forward to clarify statements he made during a controversial episode of 60 Minutes.

During the interview, which aired Sunday (Apr. 22) on CBS, the Diplomats member (born Cameron Giles) told Anderson Cooper that sales of his music would suffer and his "code of ethics" would be violated if he helped bring criminals and killers to justice or cooperated with police.

Cam’ron's stance on the issue drew criticism following the interview from those who disagreed with his views.

As a result, the rapper is making an effort to explain his view point by citing a near fatal experience from his past.

"In 2005, I was a victim of a violent crime," Cam'ron explained to AllHipHop.com in a statement. "I was shot multiple times without provocation by two armed men who attempted to carjack my vehicle. Although I was a crime victim, I didn't feel like I could cooperate with the police investigation."

The Cam’ron interview was part of Cooper's report on the concept of "snitching" and how certain artists’ message to shun the police has undermined efforts to solve murders across the country.

In addition to Cam'ron, Cooper spoke with Geoffrey Canada, an anti-violence advocate and educator from Harlem who noted how the refusal to cooperate with police has now become a "cultural norm that is being preached in poor communities."

Cam'ron explained that the threat of violent retaliation in poor communities often keeps witnesses from coming forward to help police in their investigations.

"Where I come from, once word gets out that you've cooperated with the police that only makes you a bigger target of criminal violence," Cam'ron explained. "That is a dark reality in so many neighborhoods like mine across America. I'm not saying it’s right, but it’s reality. And it's not unfounded. There's a harsh reality around violence and criminal justice in our inner cities."

Despite this reality, Cam’ron is quick to say that "my experience in no way justifies what I said" on 60 Minutes.

"Looking back now, I can see how those comments could be viewed as offensive, especially to those who have suffered their own personal tragedies or to those who put their lives on the line to protect our citizens from crime," he stated. "Please understand that I was expressing my own personal frustration at my own personal circumstances. I in no way was intending to be malicious or harmful. I apologize deeply for this error in judgment."

Over a month after rapper Tony Yayo’s altercation with the 14-year-old son of Jimmy “Henchmen” Rosemond, Yayo is finally expected to make his first appearance in court on Wednesday (Apr. 25).
Yayo's court appearance stems from allegations stating that the rapper slapped and verbally assaulted Rosemond’s son as he was walking to Czar Entertainment for an internship on March 20.
Yayo's charges include one count of misdemeanor assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a minor.
On the day of Yayo's court appearance yet another rally is expected, but this time the rally will take place outside of the courtroom by supporters of Cynthia Reed, the mother of the 14-year-old victim.
Attendees of the rally will include local councilmen, community leaders, and the family of Israel Ramirez, the bodyguard who was gunned down on the set of a Busta Rhyme's video.
The first rally took place on Apr. 2 and was held in the hopes of creating a call for action in order to create change in the music community.
Tony Yayo has already served two consecutive sentences for weapons possession charges received in Dec. 2002.
